Andvari is the Dwarf king who guards the golden treasures of the Gods (The Nibelung), and owner of the Tarnhelm, a helmet which made its wearer invisible. He is also the maker and owner of Andvaranaut, the ring made from the Rhinegold. Andvari put a curse on the ring, a curse that would affect anyone who wore the ring:
"To no lord let it bring again, and let murderer ever follow it until I hold it again in my hand."

Andvari is shaped like a fish.
