Atum is a god of creation and destruction from Heliopolis. He created the first gods, and completes and destroys all things. Atum protects all those who travel through the Underworld from evil.

In art, Atum appears as a man wearing the double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt, and he sometimes has the head of a ram. Occasionally he is depicted as an animal, usually an ape, bull, lion, lizard, mongoose, or snake. He is also sometimes depicted by the mound of creation.
