Buchis

Pantheon: Egyptian
Titles: The Living Soul of Ra, Bull of the Mountains of Sunrise and Sunset
Alternate Names/Spellings: Ba-Akh, Bacis, Bakh, Bakhu
Gender: Male

Buchis is the sacred bull in Hermonthis thought to be the earthly incarnation of Menthu. He represents the sun shining in the Underworld. His hair changes colour every hour, and grew in backwards.

In art, Buchis appears as a bull whose hair grows in the opposite way it does on all other animals. He has the solar disc with the uraeus and feathers between his horns, and above his bottom is a vulture with outspread wings.
