Consus is the god of graineries and of horses and mules. According to Roman legend, his underground altar and barn in the Circus Maximus were discovered by Romulus. His festivals on August 21st, December 12th, and December 15th were the only time in which his underground altar was uncovered. Consus was often worshipped with the goddess Ops, and was sometimes associated with Poseidon.
