Fides is the goddess of good faith and verbal contracts. She is a very ancient goddess, and considered to be older than Jupiter. Her festival took place on October 1st. When sacrificing to Fides, one must cover their right hand with white cloth.

In art Fides appears as an old woman with long white hair. Her symbol is a pair of hands.
