Loki is one of the Aesir and a trickster god. He is the husband of Sigyn, who is perpetually faithful to him, though he has had many concubines and has many offspring. After swallowing a half-burned piece of Gullveig's heart Loki turned primarily to evil purposes. Loki was involved in many of the stories of the gods, and cause of much strife. It was he who arranged the death of Balder, and because of this is chained to a rock with the venom of a serpent perpetually dripping on his head. He will break free during Ragnarok and lead the forces of Midgard. |
