Neptune is the god of water, rain, and fertility. Later he also became a god of horses. Neptune is often associated with Poseidon and Consus. His consort is either Salacia or Venilia. Bulls were a proper sacrifice for Neptune. His sacred stones are beryl and pearl. Festivals for Neptune were held on July 23th (the Neptunalia) and December 1st. |
