Tefnut is the goddess of moisture and sunlight. She is the consort/twin of Shu, and, like him, was born of Ra alone, of Ra and Hathor, or of Atum. She is the mother (by Shu) or Geb and Nut.

In art, Tefnut usually appears as a lion-headed woman wearing the solar disc and/or the uraeus.
