Urania is one of the nine Muses, the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne. Mt. Parnassus is sacred to them. Urania is the muse of astronomy. She is often portrayed with a celestial sphere, a globe, or a pair of compasses. She is the mother of Hymenaeus by Dionysus, and Linus by either Apollo or Amphimarus.
