Time the Healer?

Time never really heals all wounds,
It mearly closes them off enough for life to continue.
Wounds never completely heal,
Lest we forget that which causes them.
To forget the past would be to forget those in it,
And that, above all, is a fate worse than death.

Don't mourn the time you didn't have.
Cherish what time you did have.
The longing for what was never yours, what could have been but wasn't
Makes the memories of the past more difficult.
Isn't it enough to remember and love
Without adding wishings and regrets?
